Amazon is RTO, it is in ads sector where there was a recent layoff. TC: 340k. Unstable. Startup: fully remote, great culture, TC:180k. Unstable. Under a lot of stress and I cannot decide, since don’t want to be miserable.
That’s half the TC. Are you sure?
Gosh I don’t know. I have an L4 new grad offer from the Devices org, and it’s double the TC than my current job, but I don’t know how to decide. But for you, startups are unstable as well, so go with Amazon I guess.
Something to keep in mind… any startup is far less stable than even the most disposable team at Amazon
Amazon is stable. Employees are not imo
That’s the problem
Uffffff 😬
If you are young age, build skills and compromise salary as nothing is permanent. Company who are RTO are doomed to fail, amzn might be one of them
Makes no sense to move op in any scenario.
Move to where? Can you elaborate on your reasoning?
My friend got an offer from both a startup and Amazon. He picked Amazon and 5 months after, he was paid off. The startup that gave him the offer, on the other hand, got acquired.
Paid off? WDYM
Laid off
Amazon will always be there so long as you don’t burn bridges
L6 or L5?
L5

Is your commute manageable? Is your team fine with coffee badging? Aside from layoffs, would need sone context.
