American (InfoSec professional) - want to move to europe

I kind of have an itch to move to Spain. would I need a remote US job or would I be able to find careers over there speaking english only? I am also open to Dublin, possibly elsewhere too.

Enjoy your massive pay cut

Seems kinda like a wash if you step back. The healthcare and medicine is cheap/free. Internet and phones are super cheap. The food is relatively inexpensive considering how fresh the fish, meats, cheeses, etc are. Last time I was at a nice restaurant in Spain. I ordered a glass of wine for 13 euro and it ended up being the whole bottle.

Doesn’t justify the 100% or 200% drop in salary lol

Several global companies out there have offices and customers around the world. I would suspect your company does as well.

(I work in Barcelona) Sure, you can work here without speaking spanish. All tech companies have English as main language: global companies, startups, all of them. You should however learn some basic Spanish to be able to do groceries, find apartments and this kind of things. The massive paycut is real though. But it is also true quality of life is really good. But for sure you won't be able to save the same kind of money as you would in the US. Another bright side of moving to Europe would be public transport. Frankly speaking, public transport in US sucks (I lived in San Jose for a year). Here you could commute in 30 minutes public transport, or even less than that. I think if you manage to have a remote US job, you'll be rich here. If you have more questions about Spain, feel free to ask. I'll be more than happy to help :)

OP, can I DM you for piece of advice on your field please? I am very interested in security. Btw, consider Netherlands and Switzerland. English speaking jobs, higher pay.
