People who like Modi, are you okay with your country’s leader using words like “infiltrators” for a community?
I passed the interviews last week and my recruiter told me that I am going to receive an email from another recruiter about the business unit that I might join and the offer. I asked if there are more rounds, he said no it will be offer. And I received a call from the new recruiter, she asked me what number would make me happy, but I didn’t know how to answer, and she wouldn’t tell me the range of the position. I didn’t mention a number, I just told her I still have some final rounds with other companies this week so I would like to finish those first. Was this the right approach to answer her question? Or was I supposed to tell her a number right now? Why wouldn’t she want to tell me the range? She then sent me the job description (SWE I) and will let me know the next steps if I am interested in applying. This sounds a little strange to me, does it mean I will have to re interview again? Any Amex folks / those who have experienced this here please help! Thank you so much!!! TC before layoff: $145k YOE: 1.5 Location: NYC #engineering #americanexpress #amex #offers #tech
Check blind and levels fyi for numbers. Then maybe tell them based on research, looking online, etc. this is the range I expect for nyc and give a higher end of the range that you’ll be happier with. Good luck dude! Lmk how the interviews were.
Hey Op, how did it go? ;)
I got lowballed so I accepted another offer from a startup.
Know nothing about Amex, but generally just say a number that actually would make you happy. Err on the higher side of your range.
Ideally I want higher TC than my previous job, but Amex’s range seems like a lot lower than other companies based on Glassdoor due to no RSU or stock options offered, so I’m afraid the recruiter will ghost me if I mention it. I want to know what is the appropriate number for my level at Amex.
Check levels.fyi if Amex is on there. Glassdoor isn't great in my experience. Also most of those will be older salaries (pre-inflation and pre super tight labor market), so new offers may be quite a bit higher.
