How is the analyst / SDE position at Goldman Sachs India? What is the work like and tech stacks used? Got a call from a recruiter regarding the opportunity in Goldman Sachs. Also want to understand what are the salary levels for this position? Blind Tax - TC - 35 lpa Yoe - 3.5
Avoid GS. You won't have any life, you will only be working (no WLB). The worst part being you will be working on legacy tech stack.
I know this is the general perception of GS. Having worked at GS for 3.5 years I can say that this is partly true for few teams. The team I am part of is super chilled out, I work for 40-45 hours a week and the tech stack is great too. No legacy tech stack or proprietary tech stack in my team. The point I want to make here is, not all teams have worst WLB/legacy stack.
But would I want to play with my luck when there are better opportunities out there. It's a game of probability. The probability of getting a project like yours are less in GS as compared to any other tech oriented company.
Guys any pointers on the compensation part
Target for Associate position. AS far i know Salary level can range from 30 - 50 LPA. Don't get fooled by WLB and other shut that people tell about GS. I have enjoyed working here from last 4 years, My team has good WLB, good tech, great leadership.
Got it, thanks for the info. And what is associate position equivalent to ? Sde2?
Yea, equivalent to sde 2
GS might be good for someone who always been in GS, but you definitely won’t find it good after switching from flipkart. Not a good choice IMO.
From my experience in their interview loop, it was bad, they wanted me to code in java. When I said I'm comfortable with cpp, the interviewer cancelled the interview and they had to retake it, which I cleared, but felt too uncomfortable with them persisting on a particular language for the interviews, so dropped out of the loop.
