Has anyone interviewed for this role? Any insight into the tech screen/difficulty level? #dataanalytics #datascience #analyticsengineer
Is this for Data Engg role?
It’s not data eng, this is analytics focused
How many yoe? They very specific on this . They usually hire from other top tech companies. These are also overqualified for the role . Senior Data scientist that didn’t crack the DS interviews or people with 7+ years of experience. DE people from meta also get these roles
its l5 - I have 5 yoe. just wanted to get an idea of interviewing difficulty especially because these analytics engineer roles are relatively newer and aren't as standardized
Not at this company They kinda coined the term being one of first teams to talk about what they do and how they align the roles to their business segments You essentially own the entire business segment analytics whether that’s games, product , messaging , ads etc But from my understanding they’re pretty hard
Coding and a lot of statistics
Do they require a specific dialect of SQL? Is it coderpad or something that actually runs SQL code like db fiddle?
what kind of statistics questions do they focus on?
I went to the final panel round but didn’t get selected. Here’s the rounds I went through. Initial HR, 45 min Hiring Manager training about background, specific projects and team fit, 45 min SQL screen, 1st panel with 2 AEs. 1 hour each. Mix of behavioral, team fit, my back ground and again SQL + stats + probability and 2 case studies. Final panel talked to 6 people. One was R or Python tech. Two with stakeholders. One with skip manager. One with HM again and finally with HR. phew! 😅 Finally didn’t make the cut. 😕. But the interviews were not that hard i felt. Hope this helps. I didn’t find much information about the rounds anywhere. One thing that helped me prepare well was Netflix blogs and Medium articles published by Netflix staff. Which org will you be talking to?
What kind of case studies ? Can you give an example? How many years of experience? Is your role DS or DE?
Interviews are team specific, so the stages aren’t structured the same way across the company. That being said, this ^^ covers most of what you’d expect
Following. wMcp50 : What has been your interview process so far? Which team are you interviewing for! Is streaming experience important for the case studies?
