What's Android development like at Square these days? In the past, Square seemed to be doing far more to advance the state of Android development than Google was. Libraries like Dagger, Butterknife (although I guess that was Jake Wharton, not Square,) OkHttp and Retrofit were very welcome additions. On the other hand, Flow and Mortar were a nightmare. What does Square's Android stack look like now? Are there any libraries or frameworks used internally that people can comment on, or is it mostly just Jetpack and publicly available libraries? How is all of the surrounding tooling like IDE, plugins, build tools, build/CI infrastructure and version control? #square #android
Workflow, Molecule, Retrofit, Compose, Contour, SqlDelight are some of technology we use. All are open source.
