It depends on the company but startups usually don’t give you shit unless you ask for it.
no pay raises. i remember pushing my manager for 2 years before getting a performance review and an out of band 4% raise. i left soon after
Engineering - went from 80 to 110 to 127 to 140 to 170 annually from 2013 to 2017 - depends on how well you do and how important you are to the company.
Those sound more like promotion than the sort of yearly bump the OP is asking about...
I think it mostly depends on the funding they have vs the burn rate.
