Another American exec gets nailed by MeToo

It seems another American executive has been sued for sexual misconduct http://money.cnn.com/2018/07/03/news/companies/national-beverage-lawsuit-caporella/index.html Which brings me to my question. There is no dearth of money in US. There is plenty of opportunity to find strippers and even escorts (both male and female). So why do these successful men try to look for sex at work? It just doesn’t make any sense. Its no secret that using sites like backpage (now yesbackpage.com) one can set something up in less than an hour. So why be so stupid?

They enjoy the power.

Everything in the world is about sex. Except sex.Sex is about power.

Didnt read the article, but it's easy enough to guess the content. Simple answer is because assault and molestation are not purely about lust, they're a combination of lust and power. People(Men usually) who do these acts can obviously pay and do their acts the legal way, but there's no fun or challenge in that. It's the illegality of the act, their own higher position of power, and a culture that does nothing to curb Sexism, is what enables them to constantly indulge in such reprehensible, and quiet often unpunished, behavior

Well prostitution is illegal in US. So if they seek thrill .... then there it is.

Make prostitution legal. Hypergamous relationships are basically prostitution anyway.

If you had noticed most of these encounters surface after many years once the blackmail / extortion fails.

Interesting how many of these weren’t reported immediately. I wonder if their stories changed over time?

Of course they changed overtime. No human being remembers with precision accuracy every event in their lifetime for eternity

Perhaps these were actually consensual relationships but when someone realized they could make money on their story they sought to destroy another person’s livelihood.

Sssshhhh, this is no place for that kind of realtalk. You will be shunned as a bigot.

Microsoft JoanHarris Jul 4, 2018

Or just considered the idiot you are.

Research Now Arschloch OP Jul 4, 2018

You may have a point but you still didn’t answer the question. Why would a CEO even look for a consensual relationship at work? Won’t it impair his judgement and expose him to all sorts of manipulation and blackmail?

Sapient Razorfish Ofjamevla Jul 4, 2018

Love, infatuation or the allure of a likeminded, attractive partner clouds a person’s rational judgment.
