Person's current job. L65 swe at msft. Current salary: 190k, bonus:40-50k, stock:120k. Tc:400k. Total stock is 280k New job offer: 200k. Bonus: at least 25%, times performance multiplier. Stock is 320k. I will not tell name of new company. I don't think this is that competitive of an offer but what do i know? Thoughts.
wow 400k in Seattle 👌 what do you mean by total stock is 280k? at 4 year cliff? what will be your next year TC in msft
Not a big jump
new TC is 200+ 50 + 80 = 330TC. So, TC wise you are taking a pay cut of 70K but Stockwise you are getting roughly ~40K/4 =10k jump. Overall- compwise, it’s a No-Go Strictly no if it’s a Bay Area based role. Maybe yes if it’s in Seattle based on your career direction. is the new company pre-IPO/FANG? You don’t want abstract illiquid stocks instead of stocks in MS Will the new role lead to accelerated growth in leadership or skill development ? Look at upside - MS gives SSA. Would you get something similar in new company. Finally, MS may match the offer on stocks. Ask yourself are you sick and tired of MS or you want a different experience at new place ?
new tc is 330k since 320k stock for 4 year. Current tc for op is 400k this around 70k cliff
Thanks @pigggy- with the cliff amount, there is not much increase in stock award amount
YOE? Money's good.
Why can't person ask for himself on blind?
Does it matter?
