Any SWE women at Facebook willing to be a mentor?

Huh? Seriously. @avian - now you know what I was kinda talking about. Now I am not saying above person is male but my past experience suggests most likely they are!
Why are you restricting your ask to women? Do you really believe that a man can't provide effective mentoring? Or do you think that work is somehow so different for women, that only another woman will do?
My recent experience with asking generic pool for mentoring was them hitting on me or telling me that Facebook should not hire women - they are all idiots:) Now I agree not all men are like that but I have some personal situation because of which I want to be in a slightly more soft communication environment so hoping to find that from fellow women! Also if you are a guy - I have had some amazing male mentors and managers and I wouldn’t have made it anywhere without their guidance and encouragement. Just yet to find such people at FB. Any concerns?
@eli I’m a male manager inside Fb but I can understand what you’ve experienced and the need for a softer communication match as I have seen similar situations in women ICs I’ve managed over my career. As others mentioned, there are plenty of ways to get women mentors inside Fb but the timing of that might not align with team match etc. I’m happy to extend my offer help you during exploration of team match if you need until you find a woman mentor inside Fb. Feel free to DM me if you want.

Do you mean a group for women mentors or just for team finding? I am coming in with absolutely zero network there and a bit anxious
There should be groups of women SWEs with more senior ones playing a mentoring role and help you grow your career. There should be some info about this on the career portal, maybe not in full detail. You can ask your recruiter to connect you with someone if you’re super anxious about this.
