Those who switched, can you recommend anything? I learned the technology, but noone invites to the interview. In my case it is still backend/infra in Java, Go, Python. Want to switch to Rust, NodeJS, C++. TC: 220k (EMEA)
The average TC for an OCaml programmer is pretty high.
Yeah since the company that hires for it is quite literally Jane Street 🤣

Would you burn the bridges for 2x salary bump?
Have you tried to add projects? I think for Rust and Node.js that might help. C++ is probably going to be harder.
I am not sure how complex should project be, I was writing university labs in Rust for learning it. But it is quite a small things, some took me an evening, some took a week. Also not sure how to highlight it in resume, so I won't be rejected immediately.
I guess some sample project like a backend service with a frontend that can interact with it is going to enough. I think you can have a projects section and add those projects. I think it’s always going to be difficult since you would be competing with someone who has work experience with the said languages so projects might not be enough but can surely help you improve your chances. Also if you are confident with the languages, I have personally added some of those languages in some of my work ex before. This one is a bit shady but I don’t think it is going to be a problem but be confident to back it up.
