A lot if air about impending recession in mid-2020. people who survived through previous recessions, can you guys share some tips? Should we stick to current companies or target for some companies that were not so much affected with recession around last time? So not Amazon?
Pro tip, don't be poor.
But poor people can't lose money in the market
We plan for all recessions, expected or not. We manage our money, put aside savings, keep our living expenses low enough that we could take a pay cut and still survive. Our credit is amazing so our buying power is strong, so even if we run out of savings we have a back up plan. Basically- if you manage your money correctly, you can stand a recession.
So what you are saying is, be rich, and it will be fine.
Ha! I wish! No, we are not rich. How you manage money is much more important than how much you make.
If only predicting recessions were that easy.

Recession this, recession that. These fears have been thrown around every six months for the last 3-4 years. Even if there is a recession, it won’t necessarily be as big as the 2008 recession. You should have an emergency fund for if you’re laid off, but that’s true regardless of a recession occurring. If you’re feeling especially worried, then increase the size of the emergency fund, and diversify your investments to hold some bonds.
Wait wasn't the recession end of 2019?
