Looking at a position that uses HackerRank to assess SQL competency. Any tips? Or info on the mechanics of assessment would be helpful? #hackerrank
I did. It's a slightly helpful refresher but not comprehensive by any means. a lot of the questions are tedious and/or repetitive. Would the company you're looking at be Optiver by chance?
The company, g2o, is actually a contract company doing c2c for a regional bank.
Does the company write their own questions and just use hacker rank as the platform or is there a standardized one? The practice sql questions on hackkerank I found to be mostly bizarre and tedious. No live coding interview is going to ask you to join 4 fake tables together
Hackerrank will have three paragraphs to read for the question and the discussion page will be all about how confusing the requirements were π
I've done one sent by a startup. It allows you to choose any flavor of sql. Points out your errors and tells you whether all test cases are met. The quality of questions : if sql is your bread and butter it's medium level. If your rusty you might want to brush up before you attempt it.
Thanks. This is helpful.
