Currently in FANG but was financially irresponsible. Will need some serious dedication to come back.
Yeah, over a million dollars in debt, aka my mortgage.
There is difference between consumer debt and leverage. You have leverage. Op has the other
We both know that’s not what I meant
Divorce?
How much are we talking ?
Exactly four years ago, I had a huge debt 200K, around 40K of 401(k) loan,no savings, no money to pay rent. I am not sure of your situation but will take a lot of self discipline to get back to where you want to be. it might sound rude/unnecessary but go see a Dr before it affects other areas of your life.
Better than those nerds who won't spend 💰 on shit and live unfulfilling lives ...
I'm one of those nerds, except my life is very fulfilling. You are just jealous that we're happier than you without spending anything.
You're happy if you believe you're happy. To everyone else, your penny pinching and sharing an apt with the bros to "save cash" isn't attractive to the ladies.
Other than student loans or a house, how is it possible to have so much debt? Should be able to pay off a car in a year with a FAANG salary, etc.
Make a budget, track your spending, identify the biggest spending areas and target them the harddest. Cut spending, eat out less, buy less stuff. Pay off debt. Hit Zero. Stay on budget. STAY On Bydget. Use extra money no longer going to paying off debt for long term saving / boring investing, rather than celebrating by finally buying a new car are something.
You're not the first. Please go get a financial advisor. You can often get one thru your bank or company if cash strapped. Like Etrade or Fidelity has good in person advisors (they do stock and retirement at Intel). They'll help you prioritize, detailed plan and knock down the list.
