This is my fourth company in 8 years and it seems like every single one has a diversity quota that is either explicitly enforced (thru bonuses tied to diversity outcomes) or soft enforced (you suffer career repercussions for hiring non-DEI approved ppl) What I don’t get is that there are some all Asian or all Indian teams so how do they escape the diversity quota insanity? Is there some secret cheat code to avoid hiring this dead weight? It’s my second company as a manager and while I don’t have HC yet I know when I do I’ll be forced to hire second rate talent to appease the diversity borg mind.
Priya and XingXing as PMs both count as DEI by their rules
Appreciate the post. Being a diversity hire yourself and trying to diss about it. Kudos.
I grew up in the Appalachians in a dirt poor family and got a CS degree from a non Ivy League/coastal elite college, so yes I am a diversity hire but not like the ones forced down companies throats.
Racist of you to assume Asians are dead weight. Most Asians are busting their balls to take a better living for their family.
That’s not who I’m talking abt. I’m just curious how those ethnostate teams avoid the DEI quotas forced upon others.
Those are nepot bros, they figure out loopholes to go around the actual intent of DEI. Even without existence of DEI quotas, they will still find ways.
Just check Trans and Bi when asked
Good idea, tho the candidates would have to self report that when applying
