Hello, I'm a Senior Software Engineer at Stellantis. I am trying to figure out what job title/position I should be striving for when it comes time for promotions. Don't see org chart or job title advancement posted anywhere. On Glassdoor I only see Senior Software Engineer as being highest title within the 'software' domain. Above that is management. Anyone familiar with their org chart or job title progression know what's next? Or is it the same title just slight pay increase unless if you move up to management? Thanks! #Stellantis #FCA #auto
How is company after psa Merger.
Good so far I think. They're doing reorganizations with different departments. For a lot of employees they want to do 70% permanently remote and other 30% on site (at least in Michigan). They're trying to become more of a tech company rather than an automotive company meaning they're putting an emphasis on the latest technologies. I'm speaking from an IT perspective. Not sure how it is for embedded engineers and how they're relationship with suppliers has changed.
I never worked at FCA but this is what I gather from others' input (both present and past employees at FCA) After Sr engineer --> technical specialist --> Sr tech spec --> tech fellow (manager) --> Sr tech fellow (sr manager). Tech fellow level equals manager (first level in management) Hope this helps.
Thank you, much appreciated!
At GM, tech specialist is same level as first level people manager. This would be a potential next step after senior engineer. Tech fellow would be analogous to senior manager. Beyond that in technical role would be executive roles, like chief engineers.
