Yes, mostly everyone speaks English. Also everyone there is a dick.
What do they do that makes you call them dicks?
The people in Zurich don't like to speak "high" german, they speak a regional dialect of Swiss German. You can speak English with most professionals but it can be hard to speak with with service people (plumbers, delivery people, etc). Getting apartments can be hard, and I understand there is some racism.
You're going to want to learn it in the long run. In my experience it'll make your life easier in the long run, but it's not impossible to survive without.
I'm based out of the Zurich office. You can survive without knowing German, emphasis on the survive part. But life mostly sucks if you don't know German, so you're really gonna want to learn some at least. And it's freaking hard.
