Lots of bidders and BMO ultimately came out on top. What’s the mood like? Guessing any will be relived while others may be 💩 ing themselves. https://www.reuters.com/markets/europe/bnp-paribas-sell-bank-west-canadas-bmo-around-16-bln-2021-12-20/
Considering BOTW went through 2 rounds of layoffs before moving operations to Tempe, AZ there are a lot of people wondering if relocating to Arizona and then having to face a possible layoff with far fewer job opportunities than in San Francisco not to mention a pay cut, the mood is all over the place.
There is less drama watching a soap opera than it is to work at bank of the west. The most indecisive higher management I have seen. If he’ll is were the hope dies, this is were ambitions die. 😂
Talent retention has been a long time problem for BOTW, I hope BMO is prepared to right-size valuable employees or suffer the loss of the instant synergies they seek and more
BMO knows what they are getting because BNP has been adamant about the minimal contributions BOTW has made. There will be lots of force reductions but also lots of hiring to be done
What do you mean re “adamant about the minimal contributions BOTW has made?” Just curious on how we are viewed at BNP.
Bank of west has lost anyone worth their weight. Anyone clinging on are either hired guns or weight
Any updates here?
The mood in my city is that if BMO doesn’t right the ship, fast, it’s going under and we are all going to get off before it does. I just transferred from Umpqua three months ago and I’m already applying for jobs again. It’s a nightmare over here.
