Modi is a legend, will be remembered for centuries to come
I appreciate the existence of IM messages. But I've noticed conversations have purely moved from emails to slacks. There is no way for me to track and respond to 50+ work related slack conversations and groups which people seem to be tagging on a regular basis. I have tried to push back but now I'm coming across as a boomer. I do think slack has its place but it is impossible to keep track and answer everyone. So most people just end up ghosting! Wtf. For people loving slack (btw I love slack too, just not how it is being used) can you comment how you handle almost 100+ messages everyday. ? Also the poll is not about Slack as a software!!! 😡 But on how people use it! The same problem can exist with zoom, teams, anything.
Slack sucks
I love slack. Emails are outdated and long wait
both, the answer is both
Still better than teams
Maybe better than your teams, not ours
^^^Triggered
Slack sucks, use Zoom Chat please. Otherwise there's gonna be another round of layoffs.
🤣
We use zoom chat all the time lmao
Slack is so much more efficient, you don’t have to think as hard about what you say
that is the problem
Communication was much more organized at my old company that used outlook and teams than at my new company that uses purely slack
When people other than my manager try to make requests or give me tasks over slack, I tell them to put it an email and say that’s how I track my projects. This way I’ll remember to do it and it’s documented. My company’s slack messages expire after 90 days and so much valuable information is lost because of this
Same! Our retention policy is 90 days for one on one messages and about a year for groups. So much information is lost , but more importantly I'm unable to track my work!
Does amazon uses slack?
Do you answer 100+ emails everyday?
No but with IM people have expectation of instant or atleast one day turnaround. Also, it is impossible to keep track of what is read, what is not
When I worked at a FAANG that didn’t use Slack, I probably wrote about 150 emails a day. It’s tough tracking the same amount of info on email and Slack, especially when Slack messages get deleted after a few months at Snap.
