Anyone who votes No on Prop 22 has no idea how market economies work

Voting No on prop 22 sounds good and nice on paper, but that’s not how the real world economy works. The amount of people supporting no on prop 22 is mind boggling. Every law has side effects which most politicians don’t think of or care about. You cannot force a company to take a loss for your virtue signaling. If you force them to give drivers benefits and higher wages, they will just leave the state (because it will not be profitable to operate in CA, and yes money makes the world go round and companies need to make a profit to survive), then these part time uber drivers won’t even have a job.

maybe the people who vote for No on Prop 22 don't care about market economies. In the ideal world, they want the collectivization of commoditized unautomated services.

The ideal world of equality under poverty.

that is the bernie sanders approach, but that's only bad if it gets in the way of innovation (which is why full scale socialism/communism is bad - this is profit sharing within a company so there is still capitalism and competition). At this point Uber is led by a bunch of asset managers who don't innovate. In these cases, you might as well just let the workers share in the profits since they are the backbone of the service. I don't think the government should legislate this though, and the free market should decide - but this also means deregulation of taxis and ride share apps.

I’m not worried about Uber or Lyft leaving CA. They don’t want to crash their valuation 😂 Vote no on prop 22. Kthxbai

I understand that there are good reasons to vote either way. I also suspect the people arguing the loudest against Uber will probably complain the loudest when Uber inevitably raise prices if the prop passes 🤔

With every challenge, comes opportunities. If we force Uber to take a loss, taxi cabs win. Uber would be forced to innovate.

I would get an Uber or Lyft any day even at the same rate of a taxi cab. Taxis are way behind.
