Hello, My recruiter says, there is a background check with Hireright that will be started soon and I will be getting the written offer in a week. My question is, will the HireRight guys contact my current company for verification ? I am on H1B and I don't want my current company to know this early since the H1 transfer can take up to 4 weeks. Also given the current covid-19 situation how will they verify Indian education certificates ? Any one gone through the process recently ? Thanks #hireright #apple
Hireright did my background recently for google bangalore. Regarding verification of start date at my current employ: I had the option to add employer details or provide documentation. I uploaded payslips and offer letter. The payslips had start month. Regarding Indian education certificates: Just provided the scanned copy of my degree. Background check came green in around 10 days

Weird, I got my official offer letter before hire right even started
Same here, I signed it, but they didn't. Subjected to screenings process pass so they say. BTW, have you ever heard on a process like that that failed?
I got my offer before background too and there is a section where you can click the check button that they shouldn’t be contacting your current employer. If that is selected, it will ask for first payslip showing joining and most recent payslip.
Why if that is not checked off?
Do u still need to send paystub
How many years of employment do they check at Apple ?
I think 7 years
What about education verification? My school closed down. Would I have to just supply a paper copy?
yes they will contact your current company for verification on your start and/or end date
Ah I see. I should probably ask the recruiter for the possibility of starting the background check after the H1B transfer approved. Not sure if they will agree though.
That isn't a possibility. For big companies, they just contact the HR to get start and end date. Not sure how it works for startup.
