I did an onsite interview with Apple for a senior SWE role. After the onsite, they scheduled one last technical interview (recruiter just said DS&A) before they could move forward. Once the schedule was confirmed, I looked up the interviewer's name and it turns out to be this super high-profile tech lead that started working at Apple before I was even born. I'm super honored to even be worth this person's time and am quite nervous since I have no idea what to expect. For better or worse I tend to idolize nerds with that kind of distinguished career path, so I will try to focus extra on 1) being present and 2) treating them like a normal human that got to build a lot of cool stuff. I have a really solid track record & just got promoted to L6 SDE at Amazon, I've delivered a lot of value and am capable of a lot more. I've just got to do my best & trust that someone with ~that~ much experience is likely more capable of making a fair assessment than the average interviewer. At the very least, maybe I can snag some good career/life advice. I'm prepping by doing some LC and studying up on concurrency. Does anyone have experience with this or any tips on being interviewed by folks of that caliber? #appleinterview #swe
Yes studying LC is the best way to impress your idols.
That sounds like great advice in Yodish: "The best way to impress your idols, yes studying LC is"
Congrats, try to not pee your pants when your talking to that person lol I would
Thank you, that is indeed my plight.
You’ll be fine. This extra interview is likely looking for culture / team fit. They should be more focused on your personality, drive, and communication skills than any particular coding problem. You’re correct to “be present and treat them like a normal human being.” Pretend you’re interviewing with your next boss and just do your best.

Lol. Which level are you interviewing for. Most likely lCT4, and in that case, I would say just chill
Pretty sure ICT4. I will take your advice and do some mindfulness exercises leading up to the interview. Helpful pointer for anyone interested: Brain.fm's unguided meditation tracks + some nice sound-canceling headphones is a great way to chill.
