I think they’re just delaying layoffs at this point.
iPhone sales are less cyclical than ad anfd cloud spend so I don't think they need layoffs
if so then why do they need to cut costs? They’re already pretty frugal.
Ouuuu timmeh
I would rather not receive my bonus than lose my job. It appears Apple is making smart adjustments to its budget. Whether it will be able to stall layoffs forever depends on how long the recession lasts.
Well not if you are the superstar of the team you will rage quit and only mediocre people are left
@roku easily modifiable to only top 20% get bonus
Does travel and delayed bonuses help cutting layoffs? Apple dint hire a lot, cause they din't have to! They sell products and never had the wild dream of expanding teams and building new things. It's just iterations of iphones, Mac, etc. Comparing with Amazon, they have huge number of teams and invested a lot in new projects during pandemic. Netflix had huge surge during pandemic. Google has so many products and services.
Apple is expanding into AR so this premise doesn't really hold up.
Apple is also expanding into automotive too like tesla did.
Apple hiring management is a way better than Google and Amazon.
And Meta
And Twitter
Yeah same happened with cimpress They first cut down on travel and team outings Then yesterday they did layoffs.
And here at uber we are doing silent layoffs in the name of pip😂
Why is uber still hiring?
To fire more Fire 10 hire 2 Simple tactic to hide yourself from shady news
For amzn and meta cutting branches won't do much good. So they burnt the forests down. 🔥
In recession people will buy fewer $2000 phones. They might even buy $100 phones if they have to. It’s impressive how much pricing power Apple has to sell an item costing $60 in low income brackets every year at half the price of a new car. People buy their telephones on finance like cars.
Doubt it. Apple products are the one thing that people seem willing to pay extra for, even in tough times. Despite the economic downturn, the more expensive Pro models have continued to outsell cheaper iPhones and the percentage actually increased. It's fascinating.
Where in the world is an iPhone $2k? Let me know where I can find a $2,000 (double an iPhone) new car in the US.
Other companies have done the same, but their respective hiring sprees with larger comp sent them further behind the curve.
How are things at Riot right now? Turned down an offer last April, wondering if I should be regretting it (G sucks honestly)
Riot was the one to turn me down 😢
