Screw it. Don't care anymore. Let Israel take it. One state solution.
Wait, were they not allowed before?
Msft employees can't?
Companies hate it when people discuss salaries because it’s not in companies interest. My manager clearly told me once that I should not discuss such details like salaries, and. On standard perks like shoes green card was sponsored and whose not. This was in a different company.
No, they absolutely cannot make it a fireable offense to discuss salary and working conditions. This is protected activity under the NRLA
Didn’t think I had to wait for an employers blessing to share that info
You can do it anyway, there's no law against it. Fuck Apple for "allowing" people to do what they could already
Yeah, probably there is no law against it but companies make it hard. And there is employment at will which means companies can make up any reason to fire you if you do something that goes against them. That why we discuss salaries on this anonymous forum while on company chat on teams we are all “yes sir”
The law explicitly protects discussing salary
Wow how nice of apple to remind employees of their 1st amendment rights. Thanks apple!
It's like no one could ask for price in a market
We are already discussing it. Blind + levels.fyi. We don’t care what employers think. Companies can start paying up.
Nah apple employees are generally overly “secretive” for no reason
While I do hate the secrecy culture here at Apple, I don’t blame Apple for the recent stuff. If company’s all-hands is being live streamed to reporters, they need to take some harsh steps. It isn’t for “no reason” 🤷♂️
If you worked for a company that merely copied other's ideas (poorly), wouldn't you be secretive? Apple isn't a tech company, they're a marketing firm.
Actually we have always been encouraged to talk openly about our pay. It's been the policy for so long.
Oh come on. While there’s no explicit policy preventing employees from talking about comps, it is always implied that the info is not meant for sharing. Have you been at Apple long enough to see the doc with comps shut down?
you are probably new here. There is a line in people's website explicitly saying employees are encouraged to discuss their pay.
