How much truth to this? Seems as expected.... https://www.businessinsider.com/apple-return-to-work-plan-vs-google-microsoft-silicon-valley-2020-5 #wfh #covid-19 #apple
The more stingy of them, makes sense
How is it stingy of them if they think the best way for their employees to do their job is in the office
I would not agree with that statement. The company premises are probably way cleaner than your house. Also its just 10% not like the entire company is being called. Also there is a difference between being stingy cautious with ones spending something I think Google needs to learn. Except Search and Android to some extent all your products are Duds!
It's one company despite the insane cash that didn't give any WFH allowance. They asked employees to take office furniture home 😷
You realize they closed all their retail stores globally for months and paid all employees fully with full benefits? Apple has handled this better than most. Most of their profit is hardware based.. which is hard to do remotely.
Office furniture? 🙅🏻♂️😂
😬🤫
Do you want a brand new shiny iPhone 11s - the best iPhone ever made? Then let Apple get back to work!
Make Apple Great Again!
Nope nope nope....
How has the Apple Supply Chain / Procurement adapted without travel to China?
Heard of problem solving? That’s what the company will do
That’s exactly what the OP wants to know - how did they solve the problem?
There are many in offices so they are more isolated. Hardware work from home a lot too, as long as you have your board setup well and have hardware power cycle on a remote switch. I think most hardware companies have rotating shift so one person will be turning things on and off in lab, then the rest will remote into the control machine.
Apple is secretive... you think they allow employees to take r and d hardware home?
You don't need to take them home, just need to remote into the hardware.
HWEs are treated like dogs all over the world. Almost all Apple SWEs are WFH unless they need access to special hardware.
I work at Apple with a job that has to entirely be done on site. Our management is easing us in 1 or 2 at a time, starting with like 2 or 3 days a week at most and as needed based on project needs. They understand that it would be incredibly difficult to transition straight back into 40+ hour weeks and are also allowing those who still don’t feel safe for themselves or their families to continue to stay home.
We’re back baby!
Apple is heavily a hardware company. Hard to work from home.
