I had/have both contracting and full time interviews at apple. I got through contracting and have my full time scheduled next week. Should I go ahead and cancel the interview or continue? Both are completely unrelated teams. I have 8 rounds with full-time role, while contracting was only 3 rounds. Recruiter says there is prospect of converting from contracting to full time. Will it be an issue with the contracting role if I bomb the full time interview ? I'm almost sure it will not, but double checking What should I do ?
The better strategy would have been scheduling both interviews to end around the same time. Your best approach now is to accept the contract offer (if you get it) and leave if you get the full time offer.
Agreed, this is my plan, but I'm worried if it will impact my contracting role, converting to full-time
I don’t think so. But keep in mind that the chance of you converting is probably less than zero. Do not believe the promise of conversion.
Apple has no policy on how many positions you can interview for. Interview or apply to as many as you like, it won’t hurt your chances. However, you’re only allowed to be in the negotiation stage for only 1 position at a time. My advice, interview for the contract gig first. Use that as a practice round but don’t accept it. The chances to go from contract to fte is low and a long process.
Thank you this is clear and helpful
Full time > contract role. Just go with the flow. What do you have to lose? Your end goal is to be full time.
Worried If it will impact my contracting role based on the full time interview performance
How will they know?
