Over the past 4 years I’ve applied multiple times to apple. This year I got a referral for 10 different positions in SD location. Some positions I over qualified, yet I haven’t heard back not once from any of the applied positions. Am I blocked ? It’s just strange that I have worked at two well known companies (Meta and Cisco) meet all the positions requirements and not once heard back for even screening interview. Years of experience almost 5. #engineering #software #apple
You need to have specific experience that the HM wants
It's very team specific. Apple use to routinely enquiry about my career when I worked OS level. Now they don't even bother rejecting me
They don't even hire international, I tried for few UK/EU based positions , pinged hm in linkedin too they just reply we are taking only people located here. I have applied to 100% matching openings, not even a single call back till date
Seeing posts like this make me never want to leave. I feel like I bc it lucky getting in and wouldn’t be able to replicate it. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ FYI I can’t get into Meta or Nvidia or elsewhere despite trying for years
May I ask why you are trying to move from Apple to Meta?

Apple are notorious for this. There's no rhyme or reason for it. People want to work there desperately so they don't really have to worry about being decent to applicants. I myself applied to an internship way back in my college days, aced the tech screen and then got ghosted. Applied many more times since then and continue to get ghosted.
Yea, I applied to multiple back in the day, but only got an interview when I got a referral from someone on the team I ended up interviewing with.
