I was offered a job with Apple that pays nearly 50K more per year. on salary alone and a signing bonus. However I live in Berkeley which is quite far from Cupertino. Right now they are requiring that employees come in twice a week, but there's a shuttle apparently. I was wondering if anyone has feedback on the shuttle, whether anyone else does a commute like that on a shuttle and what that's like. Right now, I work from home 5 days a week. #apple #tech #commute
Our team is in two days a week. See if there’s a shuttle directly usually the main campuses. If you are in another building it will require a connector which can add another twenty minutes
It depends on the team, ask your manager if they want you to come in twice a week. The shuttle system is very average and may require you to drive to the shuttle station. For reference there are 4 shuttles for Berkeley area running every 20 mins from 6.50 am upto 8 am, the return shuttles start from 3.50 pm and run every 40 mins upto 5.40 PM. The nearby shuttle stations are Ashby BART and MacArthur BART. Hope this is helpful. The shuttle ride is roughly 1hr 50 min This is to Apple Park btw. If you have another office, there is a 15-20 min connector van/shuttle that you'll take.
Mr.Hat, how do i get access to all the shuttle information. (Route/ frequency/ drive time etc.). One like u explained OP above. Objective is to plan housing (renting) accordingly if possible. Thanks.
You can't until you have access to internal systems. Ask recruiter for an offline map
I don’t know anyone that is going in twice a week, but the shuttle is not bad, its a comfortable place to work in, since you’re not driving, the time goes by fast
How often are they going in?
Once every 2ish weeks for happy hour
