Apply to equifax? Career suicide?

Shall I apply to Equifax? It's primarily a Java position. Or is it career suicide after all the hacks and what-not?

Don't do it

Hey thanks for the response! What makes you think I shouldn't? Does it look bad?

They’re a pretty solid company and you will be well taken care of. I’ve enjoyed working with their people. If you’re worried about what’s happened in the past and how that can reflect on you, you should work on maturing a bit first.

It's not just how it might reflect on you. They've shown incompetence not just through the breach, but also through their response, where they published a totally sketchy and non-functional website to tell you if you've been breached... I wouldn't trust their technical leadership, and so I wouldn't expect to grow much as an engineer there.

Run lol. I had applied to Equifax and was scheduled for a phone interview a week before shit hit the fan last year. Come interview time I never got a call. Waited for at least an hour on my lunch break before I gave up. Sent a very polite email explaining the situation and asked what happened. Got an email from the recruiter 2 days later asking for new days to reschedule, no apology, no explanation. Told them not bother.

Equifax management is not good. Lot of times, I noticed that one team is really busy and the other team is really chilled out. Not all the teams has same kind of work load. Also, not a great collaborative work environment.

If you don't mind, I'm really curious, what was the internal chatter/environment like when the breach happened? How did people react to leadership's response and execution?
