I’ve been approached by a google recruiter. I’m interested in the role but due to personal reason I don’t want to switch jobs till next year. Should I tell the recruiter that we should talk again at a later time? Or should I try get an offer first and delay starting time till next year? I heard Google offer is valid for up to 1 year? This is for a Data Science/Analytics role, if that matters.
If you can prepare and pass, sure. If not, tell them to contact you in 3 or 6 months. That’s what I did.
I told them I was not considering moving for next 6 months - so we had a really slow interview process. It was maybe 2 months between the phone screen and on-site.
So they waited for 6 months to reach out to you again? Then another 2 months for the interview?

Give it man. It’ll be valid for one year if you pass. If you fail, you get some experience and meanwhile cool off period will start ticking
I’m not sure how exactly this one year offer works. Do they give you a specific position/team? Or it does team matching only closer to the actual start?
