Since salaries varies a lot based on location. Anyone knows what is the best place to look for?
Lol
I found Glassdoor salaries lower than the offers I got for the positions I looked up. Indeed is completely out of wack, sometimes their estimates are HALF of the base salary.
Same here. I believe they used to be good but now are outdated in general.
F**k Glassdoor. I think salaries on blind and levels.fyi are fairly accurate.
Paysa
Paysa has the average salary for distinguished engineers at microsft at like 245k. That's off by close to a factor of 10.
Salary or total comp?
Glassdoor salaries from 10 years ago. The real salary: Glassdoor salary * 2 or Blind salary / 1.5
Hahah this is hilarious!
That’s $600 to see the salaries lol
You can also Google the site that posts HB1 salaries by company. Provides real data, dates, titles. I figure we should at least be making the same...if not there is a problem
That data is not accurate
Only base salaries though
Glassdoor has been mostly accurate in other places than the west coast (the hot tech hubs) where I have personally found Glassdoor to be about 25%-50% lower than actual compensation. The hard part about Glassdoor is that they don’t give you the option to account for RSUs very well and they tend to show base only, and not TC.
Check out reports by USCIS for H-1Bs here, that should be a close indicator. https://www.uscis.gov/tools/reports-studies/reports-and-studies
H1B data is base salary only, not TC
I have found Glassdoor to be fairly accurate.

Should C-suite take paycut to save company? Peloton layoff 400 and ceo pocketed $168M TC.
Blind. Just divide by 2.
If that makes u feel better. Lol
Good one!😄
