If you get divorced in US, you will lose half + spousal support + child support. As you were married in India, it’s a courtesy that American judicial system does to residents from other nations to annual the marriage.
Only problem is an "oppressed" wife can still drag you to court in the home country to squeeze any remaining life force out of you.

US splits post marital assets. What you earned before marriage, you get to keep. It is pretty clear no? If there was dowry exchange or you spent unfair share of wedding expenses, you can(should) get that money back too.
