MS levels are shown internally as senior, principal, partner etc. Are FB levels visible among peers internally? Thanks.
No
No, it is not. Only people who work with people data can see it
Nope, only managers can see it for their ICs. In some ways it’s good but it’s rough for more Junior ppl because I find everyone expects everyone to function around an IC5 level.
i guess people would know based on how you talk, cpde etc right?
It can be inferred for the management chain. M1/M2 is 6/7 but no easy way to discern who is what (though reports are usually a good giveaway), similarly D1/D2 are 8/9 and then VP is 10. IC is much harder to figure out, but senior people tend to report directly to directors or higher, etc.
Is it common for IC5 to report to a D2? I’m asking because that’s gonna be my reporting structure (I’m IC5) and I was surprised because I thought ICs usually report to M1/2. Curious if it’s just a temporary thing and they will change my manager down the road.
No that’s quite uncommon to my knowledge. I’d assume you were a 7 if I were to look you up internally. I would assume that’s temporary.
