For the last few months, despite thousands of layoffs the number of recruiters hitting my inbox has increased. All of these are for financial companies for quant/normal dev positions. I'm surprised they're still reaching out despite possibly laid off people to reach out to
Still getting quite a few
May be recruiters want to bring too many candidates and show they are contributing to reduce their own chances of layoff compared to their peers
Quiet as the grave, lately.
It pretty much has stopped for me
I'm going to have to go back to looking at the jobs pages in the Thursday New York Times, at this rate
Stop completely since January
Op I think since you are based in east coast you are getting these reach outs specially for quant companies. Personally it went from a couple every week to maybe one a month. And the ones that I get are pretty unsuitable either they are an unheard company or a contract gig

I'd say I'm getting 40% the number of recruiter reachouts as before the downturn. Still plenty, but not as much as before. Oh and they've turned off the automatic "did you see my email" followups, so they're not as desperate as they used to.
Omg I've had a few who have gotten my phone number. They are calling me during lunch!
The worst was an idiot who called me and I said I'm not really interested and these end up in ghosting but pushed me to send him my resume. He ghosted me and has reached out multiple fucking times since. Literally the reason why I ignore 3rd party recruiters
