Why? we are in the 21st century and still some tools and morons expect you to dress up in a fashion style from boomers' parents generation?!
Tends to depend on your role/industry and the extent to which your role is customer facing. General manager of a full service hotel or a wealth management professional that interfaces extensively with clients I would expect are still wearing nicer business attire when in the office or meeting with clients. Most IT professionals unlikely, but could be cases where if working in person at a law firm where you may encounter clients it might be a thing.
I see none of this boomer wear on west coast. Everyone = Jeans, nice shoes or sneakers, random shirt, sometimes jacket.
Good question dumb poll
Dress code is a hard nope on me ever accepting that job TBFH.
Maybe one day, you will learn that there are many business sectors beyond Technology with their own norms and dresscode :)
I hope the boomers in those business sectors eventually wake up and realize it's the 21st century.
Blend, apologies.. edited to reflect the more current parlance.
Is there any reason why you are so invested in the dress code of firms/ sectors you are not working/ will not be working at?
