Are you seeing more and more homeless in SV?

Almost every major traffic light has a homeless person with a cardboard asking for help. My anecdotal observation is that this is different from 2 years ago. Anyone else observing the same? What's the reason?

I’ve only been here a little over a year (Mountain View / Sunnyvale area), but I rarely ever see homeless/pan-handlers in the area. Up in SF, sure.

Not seeing them at 237 and el Camino?

Rarely if ever, but to be fair I’m only near that intersection once a month for a haircut. I used to live in a fairly big city, so relative to that the homeless here seem almost non-existent.

Yes and some are like dead on street , footpath , stairs - it’s a zombie land

Once, I thought it was big a trash bag laying in the middle of the side walk so I tried to kick it to the side. Then I realized it's a person instead so I ran away as soon as possible

Yes. Some of them work at IBM and Cisco.

Home prices have skyrocketed, and outside of software you can't really afford to live in those areas. Is it any surprise that we're leaving a bunch of people behind?

Yes. Tons of homeless in South San Jose. Trash everywhere. The city should do something to cure this problem. It's like a 3rd world country in the richest area in the world. Unbelievable! 😱

They're the ones who don't know they can get more per hour by cleaning up, buying a suit and tie at Goodwill, a disconnected cell phone, and doing the "I'm on the phone with Chase about my card not working, may I have some coffee money?" bit outside Starbucks.
