I'm dealing with a workplace issue in Tech in regards to having Aspergers. What's the best course of action to take if you received any disciplinary action and an employer won't remove a write-up from your HR file?
Did you request an accommodation due to a disability ahead of time? If not, you should talk to a lawyer.
This is key, if you disclosed and have an accommodation.
I didn't. I was told by a recruiter that it wasn't necessary to disclose it when I first applied to my job.
You probably need to go into detail on the infraction and the disciplinary action, but I suspect you specifically don’t want to do that for reasons of anonymity. In that case, I can only think to suggest that you talk to a workplace lawyer. They will be both better informed on the relevant issues, and perfectly safe to tell everything to.
^This. And/or engaging your EEO people.
