I see a lot of junk here on blind on ppl saying 500k tc, but they drive a Toyota and have roommates.. we’re not like that we like to live a little Assuming we already have a house + there is an additional use case on actually NEEDING a bigger car anyway (2kids) - what TC is justifiable or reasonable to consider dropping 100k? Combined TC 550 #personalfinance
None!
100k is a stupid amount to spend on a car. Get a used highlander for like 40k and spend the rest on vacations, investments, or literally anything else
Everyone has different preferences in life. Some people’s personality only suits a camry/accord; no matter how much they make. So they should stick to that.
Used for 40k? 🫥
It’s not about TC, if I have 4-5 mil in my savings then yes
This is the way
Fair point as well
For me, it’s not about TC, but about meeting financial goals and milestones. If you are on track with those and confident about your financial future and safety, then go ahead.
Yes am very confident. I have purple circle shares if you know what I mean
What are purple circle shares
Any TC as long as you're ok with the financial consequences.
Honda Odyssey for less than $40k.
Honestly this was considered but wife refuses the MV, hence model X best alternate
Ditch the wife
If you have 1.5k per month to spend, go for it.
Get a BMW for 60k , it's an excellently engineered machine.
Getting rid of the X5 as it’s too small for our needs
How is an X5 too small?
100k is an insane amount to spend. 2 kids will fit in the back of a 95 Civic the last time I checked.
2 young kids + strollers + pack and play, etc.. we go on 10 road trips a year probably
Lmao have flown the world pre-kids… it’s 10x harder to fly with young ones compared to driving - especially when there is so much to do semi-locally (Tahoe, Monterey, Yosemite, Big Sur, etc) We’re not doing anything more than 6 hours
Never
With 600k tc then, what do you do in general with life?
Never, let go your ego. 600k is not life changing and will it be sustainable ?
