Cross-post from my company channel to get the perspective of the entire industry. Appreciate any and all advice! I'm graduating from business school in May and have accepted my offer to return to Amazon as an L6 PMT in Seattle. My manager says that Atlanta is also an option as its a hub for our team and that this would be a quick location switch before I start in late June. I'm seriously considering this as my entire family is on the East Coast. Which city would you choose if you were me? I know that cost of living is lower in Atlanta, but there are significantly better job prospects in tech in Seattle if I decide to switch teams/roles/companies. From my perspective, the pros/cons lists are pretty even for both cities.
If your whole family is on the east coast, choose Atlanta. If things go tits up for you at Amazon, you can always relocate to Seattle for jobs later. If you don't have a family, (wife/kids), to consider, do what works best for you right now. This is coming from somebody who loves Seattle.
Atlanta… cheaper and sunnier and closer to the east coast
Seattle is having trouble hiring and retaining cops and crime has gotten out of control.
And those that they do manage to hire have sketchy past and run their cars over pedestrians
Mostly boomer companies in Atlanta. Switching is going to be harder

Any Indians Think Kashmir Should be Independent?
If I had family on the east coast, I'd choose living close to family in a sunny city over living far from family in an expensive, dark, wet city
Agree 1000%!
