Relocating the family to Austin. Which area is best? No I’m not moving from California, Midwest state.
Depends on what you’re looking for and what you can afford in the areas. Lake Travis is great, but pricey for good stuff, while Round Rock is a little quieter than Austin proper. If the family includes kids in school then obviously look into schools around those areas, but know that if you want to go to downtown Austin, most of these places are at least a 20 minute drive if you’re fast and lucky
But seriously, is your office up in North Austin?
I’m remote but want to be somewhat close to the major employers in case things change
lol these are not close to anything
Curious about “Midwest state”. I grew up in Chicago and most recently in Minneapolis (I call these “Midwest”) and have lived in TX for 8 years. Not something I’d recommend but maybe you mean like Missouri or Kansas or something
KC
Ok so maybe TX won’t be so drastically different from what you’re used to. Many people love Texas, especially Austin. I enjoy the state parks in that part of the state. Enchanted Rock, pedernales falls, lake Somerville. Very nice in the winter.
Check out the Brushy Creek area. Not as far north as Leander or Round Rock. Decent schools if that is important to you. Much better value than downtown.
Westwood is one of the best public high schools in the area if you have kids. Also I think this depends on your price range
this is something you want to pay attention to
i left 10 years ago, but all the places you listed sucked fucking balls bro
wait i just saw you from midwest. just pick any place, you will like it there. nvm sorry
hahaha
