Hi, I'm planning to apply for Australia PR from India. My age is 25+ and I have almost 4 yoe as a developer. Is it worth applying via an agency? How long does the process take these days? Also, please comment if you know any company that does visa sponsorship #tech #australia #pr #workvisa #softwareengineer #amazon #google #facebook #microsoft

DMed you. Please check
I know many folks struggling financially even after being there for a decade.. It’s not rosy as US.. not much tech companies and many of them use legacy tech stack and paying below par considering expenses there.. Better try for US H1B lottery instead.. you can easily make EU and Australia salary in India
Valuable comment. How does Australia’s tech market compare to Canada?
Canada is better than Australia in tech.. Be it sde or data science or Devops.. Jobs are still limited.. you can think of these place as stepping stone to enter US mkt..
Yeah, go all out to apply.. maxout your points to around 100 for getting an ITA. Tech scene is not greatest here but PR + approx 5yrs will get you Aus passport which opens lot of doors. Dont overthink, just start preparing for PTE tests etc.
After a certain age you can't get a point above 85
Yeah I'm currently preparing for the tests. Also could you tell me what you meant by ITA and Aus passport?

They haven't been doing PR draws like they used to. Last draw was in December 2023 but only for healthcare professionals. The one previous to that was in May 2023. Unless you are getting in through an employer and then converting from PR to TR if eligible, I'm afraid you don't have a realistic PR pathway right now.
Thanks for sharing the information. Do you know any company who sponsors visa?
Not really. Since Covid, is very very hard to find such opportunities
