Hi all, I got moved forward to the initial interview (via slack) for Automattic. I read enough about them to understand their rest of the interview process (‘auditions’ etc), but I’m not sure what the initial screening will be like. Are there any automatticians here that can provide guidance? #automattic
Lol. Appreciate it. I have been looking at their job postings on and off for several years now so super stoked my first application got to the first screen. Is the ‘distributed’ workforce still as effective as advertised? What do you do there? Swe? Analytics?
What role are you applying for? The slack screen depends on role. Think of it as a phone screen just via text.
Thanks. This is for a growth scientist role
The slack screen is pretty informal, you’re just going to be messaging with a group of folks. they’re gonna ask about your background etc etc. They just want to see how well you communicate by text-only
I’d second that... I’d say the whole interview / trial process is designed to measure your ability effectively to communicate in writing.
