Reading around the most different figures.. ranging from 250-300 to 600k for entry level HF TC.. So I was wondering if somebody could share their idea of what constitutes an “average TC breakdown” (eg fund did “well” but not “GREAT” in the year) for entry level investment analysts at fundamental hedge funds ? I am expecting something like: 150-200k base (is the average closer to 150 or to 200? Or more?) + discretionary bonus.. ~100% of base in a normal “well” year (?) (Of course bonus depends on analyst’s performance… assuming it was in line with fund performance here) Would be great to hear from the Point72s and smaller funds as well TC 350k 3 Yoe
Are you asking because your current position is very demanding ?
Tbh I don’t get the question… what do you mean?
At 3yo I would expect a base around 150, bonus around 100% for a good year
The starting base is closer to 150 not 200. First year bonus might be 50, 75 or 100% generally guaranteed, other years are dependent on fund and company performance and your role. Generally in finance TC is compared year over year and you can expect -10% to +15% the next year.
Tech nerds, this post is not about engineers. Learn to read!
What part of "fundamental equity analyst" means quant to you? These kinds of uninformed posts just clutter up a thread and are a disservice to the person posting, who was looking for information.
This is more than FAANG. Which funds pay this much and what qualifications do I need?
I second this. I would also like to top out at a meager 750k (which most SWE don't make).
Thirding this to be in the loop
Depends on what level you come in at, sometimes they’ll take you out of deferred and stuff
Hey do you have any advice on how to get a sales and trading internship at Citi ?
I'm a Deloitte quant intern
Is this post or pre mba?
Post
Does Point72 actually pay this much?
No clue tbh
P72 was around 250k or so for the entry level academy position out of undergrad
At BAM I think it's 150 for sr associate or jr analyst. 175-200 for analyst and sr analyst. Bonus is so team dependent though. Jr PM base is $250 apparently
Wow I thought more tbh. When you say “so team dependent” is that because is team dependent but on average we’ll above 100%… or is it on average around 100%? Please let’s not make IB the best paid in the room
Last year was a good year for multi manager HF so I have heard gossip of 5-600 bonus for analyst in strong teams. Also the firm policy is a separate 100 bonus for analyst in top 10% of stock ranking and 200 for sr analyst. Something along the line. Don't think the notion of "average" applies really
A friend in the industry makes 150 base, last bonus was 100%
I’m the exact same breakdown
Based in NY? AuM?
