I currently make 200k TC with 5 years of experience as a SWE at Bloomberg in NYC . I am intrigued to know what is the market average and also what does the high end companies pay (FAANG or start ups)

You should be able to negotiate for more than what you make now at BBG if you can get a competing offer.
Is all of this experience at Bloomberg? Fwiw, Bloomberg's new FSD offer is something like $150k at lower end now. I myself hover around 170k with 2 years experience... Bloomberg really seems to not value existing employees.
More answers please
new hires with Senior SWE (~ >3 YOE) non team lead, at Bloomberg, can get 210 Base, 50 target bonus and 50k signing.
I have a little under 5 YOE with 185k base and 305k TC. Hopefully being promoted soon though...
Same as at other startups. Using most recent 409(a) value.
You’re overvaluing your stock. If it’s not liquid, you need to at least factor in the time value of money up until you can sell. You should also apply a discount for the possibility that the stock will be lower than your cost basis when you can sell, and the possibility that the whole company implodes before then (see this list of 167 failed unicorns: https://www.cbinsights.com/research/biggest-startup-failures/)
I just completed 5 yoe. I was working at 120TC up until now. In the process of changing jobs and moving to 250TC. Not a FAANG company though
Guess time for me to switch to. New job!!
