I recently went through an interview process for a developer advocate role. I haven’t gotten an offer yet but if I do get one I’d like to come prepared for negotiation of salary. Does anyone know what the average salary is for this role within the sf/Bay Area?
depends, what company?

Average salary will be 0 soon. Old man once said... When the axe of recision swing, it is developer advocate head that fall
DevRel is a very discretionary role. Can be thrown under the bus anytime. Think of this as a nice-to-have feature. I’d avoid getting into such roles
Really depends on the company and their products. If SDKs/tools for third party devs is a big part of their moat, you're going to need people to help them out with those products.
Right! For AWS and GCP (and Azure too) that’d make sense since they’re used so heavily. Not just GCP…even Google Maps and Google Drive team has DevRel people. I interviewed for the Maps API team but chose not to go that path
Mind if I dm?
Did you get an offer OP?
It depends If your role is within marketing or Product/ engineering. If it’s engineering you can expect typical SWE salaries. The lowest DevAd offer I received was 160 base + 15k sign on with 2yrs experience as SWE
