My SO works at GCP as an L6 People Manager. Big changes are coming in 2022. Avoid. They hired a bunch of ex managing consulting executives who are cost cutting like mad, busy offshoring teams b/c that's all their little brains are capable of doing. They are busy killing the titan that was GCP. Salesppl are getting canned. CEs are going through a minor reorg. TAMs are...about to get gutted. CSMs are in the middle of getting gutted. Middle managers are being asked to take on so much more. Upper management is full of arrogant pricks who take nepotism to the new level. They're trying to milk every nickel out of a shitty business b/c they can't compete with Azure and AWS. Avoid. My SO is on her way back to MSFT. (was from there, went to Google for the last 5 years, and is now on her way back). Oh, also their ridiculous fetish with office spaces means a ton of people are leaving. The good ones are waiting to be paid out and waiting to leave in jan
A google hire once told me that google never lays off people…are you a recruiter for M$?

see google fiber for this to be wrong
Noted
Still Google is the best among all the options
Yes, for now but this place is rotting fast
What do you mean ? People have the most stable job at G. No perf pressure etc
Top tip: find a good manager and follow them everywhere. Fuck these companies
So true!.
I thought Google and MSFT exactly works the same way 🤔
Google used to pay better, but now Microsoft is poaching boomerangs back and paying well
I think Sundar Pachai is a very weak CEO, esp if you compare him to the other FANG CEOs. He seems like a puppet for the founders.
Puppet with 242M stock packsge and 2M salary...haha doesn't make sense
Makes perfect sense. You want to keep the puppet happy.
Which region does this apply to?
It's global
Are you saying that no options for your SO in Non-GCP ?
we're not in the US, so no, no other opptys
Titan...GCP? Third place titan? Lmao.
As a workplace, yeah. It was an awesome country club
What's wrong with outsourcing?
The difference between a top tier MBA vs low tier MBA would know the difference
