Fun: First to reach 100 wins.
Overall: AWS for sure, but not without some gaps/shortcomings especially when it comes to MS native workloads. IE: AWS DS has a few gaps compared to Azure AD, which makes sense; I'd hope MS does a better job with their own products than a competitor lol
Its actually 2x 2012R2 servers on the backend which is a gap in and of itself. Some gaps such as: Limited CFN support (ie: no support for changing SG rules except in console, manually, for the 20+ default rules which is wide open 0.0.0.0/0 by default, no way to create trust relationship, etc). All has to be done through custom Lambda leveraging boto3/api sdk. Must be a new forest/domain. I get its a "managed" service but this is where Azure AD and ADSync shines. If you want to extend on prem domain, you'd have to manage your own ec2 instances in AWS instead. Given its "managed" you still have to spin up your own ec2 to get access to ADUC and DNS client and manage the domain that way, unlike Azure AD where you can manage users in console. Just to name a few lol
Azure in the long run
Its already been "in the long run" and clearly Azure still hasnt caught up yet.
DoD begs to differ. Different advantages of each
Who uses Azure other than Office 365?
Me but I still prefer AWS
Where is Asus Webstorage?
AWS innovates and Azure just badly tries to follow in.
Poor GCP is not even being considered....
Hard to believe in the company that just throws shit at the wall to see what sticks and then abandons it. At least they gave us Kubernetes.
The irony is Google invented the concept of cloud as we know it but they fell into the same old trap of being afraid to expose their Crown Jewels to competitors whereas Amazon took the long term view and did AWS. Rest is history.
AWS is crazy expensive though, some startups are offering better prices depending on what you need
Can't fix so easily. The flaws are deep rooted.
GCP
Hate to say it but aws since they had first mover advantages
Why do you hate to say that? An engineer should always appreciate a better product, be it a competitor.
So much hate for Amazon on this site 😂
