BART query

Got a job in SF, how safe is the daily commute and is there any discount pass available for daily commuters? Any ideas to cover the charges through your employer? Do we need to negotiate in advance or provide by default by all companies?

So far. Both stations should be fine. BART in general is pretty safe, although ghetto/dirty a lot of the time. And I think companies >= 50 employees have to provide commuter benefits.

You will get a shuttle to 2-nd St from Fremont - the company pays for it. Can also get on the shuttle on the way back home. Better than the dirty standing room only BART ride at least one way if not both.

1) buy a clipper card 2) check with your employer if they provide commuter benefits, which means tax free money for commute which could include parking and Uberpool too 3) Get on the reserved parking spot waitlist It's mostly safe, but you could see disturbing people from time to time. You can always move to other compartments. Make sure to have the Bart police number on fast dial. Don't sleep wearning expensive jewelery or showing off expensive gadgets. Bart is annoyingly noisy, buy a good pair of noise cancelling headphones.

Always put BART police number in your contacts. If you work in Financial District, you can consider get off at Embarcadero and then bike to the office.
