Asking for my sister. She was laid off and after a lot of job searching, she has landed contracting positions (she has not applied for a full time positions due to work visa constraints) for the following: 1. Offer 1: a. Company = US Bank. b. Position = Product Manager role (This is her most preferred position) c. Length of contract = 1 year contract till end 2024. 100% remote. d. TC = 120K before taxes working remote e. Learning = Fantastic position as a Product Manager. Ordinary tech stack and ordinary technical knowledge opportunities. Good business learning. 2. Offer 2: a. Company = Fiserv b. Position = Business Analyst (this is a decent position but not her most preferred as she is searching for Product Manager/Product Owner role) c. Length of contract = 1 year contract till end 2024 Onsite in Georgia. She will have to relocate to Georgia from Washington DC. d. TC = 126K before taxes and work in Georgia, US e. Learning = Great Tech Stack, fantastic tools and products to learn from as company has 'niche' Fiserv products in the market which have wide scale implementation in Financial industry. Good business learning opportunities. Not a Product Owner role. 3. Offer 3: a. Company = Fidelity b. Position = Data Analyst (This is a decent position but not the most preferred.) c. Length of contract = 1 year contract till end 2024. Onsite in North Carolina. She will have to relocate to North Carolina from Washington DC. d. TC = 135K before taxes working in North Carolina, US. e. Learning Opprtunity = Great Tech stack, good technical knowledge learning opportunities in terms of data but not so much as Product Owner. good business learning opportunities. Goals: 1. Remote Product Manager role 2. Stability = She wants stability and does not want to be laid off in 3 to 6 months. Which company is most stable amongst US Bank vs Fiserv vs Fidelity? 3. Technical Knowledge = Since she has a tech background, she wants to have technical learning through a good tech stack and acquire tech skills. 4. Business/Domain = Wants to acquire business/domain knowledge as well. 5. Pay = Wants the best pay but this is her 5th preference as all 3 offers are in similar pay range but Offer 3 has best pay followed by Offer 2. Considering her goals, which is the best company/offer to choose from? It's a tough choice as she wants all 5 points within Goals but especially Points 1, 2 and 3 are highest priority. Thoughts? #usbank #fidelityinvestments #fiserv #pm #productmanagement #productmanager
Her 1st goal is PM remote role. Then its a no brainer she just has 1 choice
Thanks. What if all 3 points as part of her Goals are equally important? Thoughts?
I’d take Fidelity for company, stability, tech stack, salary. She needs stability/visa more than anything right now. Role/title she can easily switch to later.
Thank you so much.
Rumor has it layoffs are coming
Without TC , its all worth less
I have updated the Total Compensation (TC) in the post. Let me know what do you think.
