Banned by eBay with no explanation, anyone working at eBay can help or provide details?
My eBay account was suspended today with no explanation or reason. I never violated any eBay policies, no suspicious activity, zero issues, my account was always in good standing for 20+ years and I never had any issues buying/selling, always 100% positive feedback. I tried contacting support through multiple channels and all I got was the canned responses from multiple customer service reps with no information on what I did wrong or how I can fix this, just that I’m banned for life… end of story: “Thank you for contacting us regarding the suspension of your account. We do not make decisions like this lightly so we have spent some time reviewing your case. Building a trusted marketplace is our first priority. As such, we suspend any account that poses a risk to that trust. Your account has been suspended because the pattern of activities we have witnessed present a risk to our eBay community. As previously mentioned, this suspension is permanent. You will not be able to participate in any buying or selling activities on eBay. In addition, any other accounts you own, or that are associated with this account, will also be suspended. While we know this is not the response you wished to receive, there is no further opportunity for appeal on this decision.” The only thing I can think of is that I was recently asked to upload my ID and bank statement which I did promptly for eBay managed payments, shortly after, my account was banned, not sure if this is related at all but perhaps? I'm hoping someone here who works at eBay can shed more light on this and perhaps even help out if at all possible. #ebay #banned #account #help

My mom also got banned for no reason as well. She just created a new account with a new email and new PayPal and new phone number. They did not catch on.
Yeah it's really unfortunate, my account has 320+ positive feedback accumulated over 20 years, it's very upsetting to just give that up for absolutely no reason. Everyone I spoke with at eBay today, I simply asked what was the exact issue and how can I fix it, and I was completely ignored.
My mom also had a great feedback etc she was devastated. It’s possible to move on it was hard and annoying after building a following for so long but she did it. I found some forums with people complaining about EBay doing a similar thing to them. It’s crazy.
It is disgusting how corporations who basically have monopolies in their spaces can ban people with no due process or explanations or any kind of transparency. A government behaving like this would be considered totalitarian and tyrannical.
Absolutely, couldn't agree more now that I'm in this situation. I've read/heard of folks being lifetime banned on forums over the years and always assumed (maybe incorrectly) that, well, there must be some reason.... Now that I'm in those same shoes, I can say first hand that I have no idea what happened, there is zero visibility/transparency and it is totalitarian without question.

Don't expect help from eBay, you will be talking to outsourced bots who won't help you. They don't have in house CS anymore like they used to
That's for sure, every single 'live' person (chatted with at least 10 people today if not more) just kept repeating the same lines I posted above, no one was willing to do anything outside of that. On top of that, they just end the chat automatically.... worst support I've encountered to date.
